Free Antivirus Kaspersky 2014
Bitdefender Antivirus Free is a free antivirus software especially designed to protect your Windows PC. Quick to install and light on computer resources, it is good for gaming, image and video editing, and resource-intensive applications.

Avast acquired rival free antivirus company AVG in 2016. Fans of both companies can rest easy; years and years later, there's still no plan to merge them into a single product. Both have millions of users worldwide, but each is strong in geographical areas where the other is weak. And the underlying antivirus engine is identical in Avast and AVG AntiVirus Free, as demonstrated in both our tests and independent lab tests.
This product is only free for personal use. If you want to use Avast in a business setting, you must upgrade to Avast Premium Security, which replaces both Avast Internet Security and the all-inclusive Avast Premier. It's a simpler product line than most, just a free antivirus and a for-pay suite. Not surprisingly, AVG follows the same model.
You might not realize this, but in most cases antivirus companies pay for the privilege of having products tested by the independent labs. The company does benefit; a high score gives it bragging rights, while if the score is poor, the lab helps the company work through what went wrong. With a free antivirus that doesn't bring in any income, a company might be tempted to avoid the expense of testing. Not Avast. We follow four independent testing labs that regularly release reports on their results, and all four routinely include Avast. Three of them include AVG in their latest reports as well.
Interestingly, the interface for Kaspersky's free antivirus is not based on that of the premium edition, reviewed here. Rather, the free product is a stripped-down version of Kaspersky Security Cloud, with a shield icon marking premium features as requiring upgrade. I ran my hands-on tests simultaneously with this product and the free edition and got the same results.
Kaspersky Security Cloud Free includes all the antivirus protection you get in the premium antivirus. Even the behavior-based System Watcher, which was once reserved for paid products, is included. I'll summarize those shared features here, and you can get more information by reading my review of the free product.
Kaspersky Internet Security is one of the best antivirus applications for businesses and individuals. This is because the application protects against online threats, webcam hackers, ads, trackers, and malware that finds its way into your system. It can clean your PC, store your passwords, and scan your computer whenever you want. Its five scanning options are quite comprehensive and provide all-around protection. Since the application offers a free trial version, you can easily explore its many features before committing to the plan.
In top 5 antivirus programs, Avast! Free Antivirus 9 is the only software available for free. So based on Dennis Technology Lab report, here is the complete chart showing performance of the Antivirus programs available in the market:
Out of this complete testing procedure, the best antivirus programs came out as Kaspersky Internet Security 2014, Norton Internet Security and ESET Smart Security 7. The worst virus protection software used for this test procedure was Microsoft Security Essential. About this product, Microsoft said that it provides basic protection from malware and threats and this is a very basic product. But if the product compromised with 40% attacks on the system including attacks from critical or severe threats, should we call it a security product?
Based on the above tests, I would recommend Avast! Free Antivirus 9 for those who wants a free protection. With a premium, Kaspersky and Norton are the best choice for antivirus and Internet Security requirements.
Norton also killed Norton Mobile Security's free tier, which was the best among all the Android antivirus apps we'd recently tested. That's been replaced with a security-only app for one device that costs $15 a year.
In August 2015, two former Kaspersky employees alleged that the company introduced modified files into the VirusTotal antivirus database to trick software from Kaspersky competitors into triggering false positives in virus and malware scans. A possible motive is that Eugene Kaspersky allegedly was furious at competitors perceived to be "unfairly" free-riding on Kaspersky's malware discoveries via the open-source VirusTotal database. The company denied the allegations. On his personal blog, Eugene Kaspersky compared the accusations to unsubstantiated conspiracy theories. Reuters followed up by publishing leaked emails allegedly from Kaspersky alluding to "falsies" and "rubbing out" foreign competitors; Kaspersky Lab stated the emails "may not be legitimate and were obtained from anonymous sources that have a hidden agenda".
What may be surprising are the cases of avast! and AVG. Both of these vendors offer free versions of their software (and are in the #2 and #3 spots respectively for vendor market share) but they are in similar spots on the list of top pirated antivirus applications, too.
AVG was founded in 1991 and has been developing reliable antivirus solutions ever since. AVG antivirus is trusted by more that 172 million users worldwide, making it one of the most popular antivirus developers in the world. This September, AVG released its latest antivirus security suite, 'AVG Anti-Virus 2014'.
The user interface is very similar to the 2013 version, and whilst intuitive and simple, contains some irrelevant buttons such as 'Join us on Facebook' and 'Firewall' (this feature is available only in AVG Internet Security 2014). Moreover, users of the trial version of this antivirus program are constantly reminded of the license expiration date. Apart from these annoyances, the user interface is well designed and provides a concise and understandable view of the system's safety status.
AVG antivirus programs have traditionally been some of the best on the market, and AVG Antivirus 2014 is no exception. While we would like to see some user interface improvements, overall it is good antivirus software that does a great job in detecting and removing various security threats.
The free software Baidu Antivirus is our most promising antivirus of the year. With its new product, the Chinese search giant Baidu provides an excellent product in the antivirus industry. In our initial tests, the software showed better detection rates than Microsoft, and grabbed hold of third place in the system performance category.
The malware is disguised in different ways, including fake antivirus scanners, social messaging apps, Trojan-embedded legitimate system utilities, downloads in social networks and free public file-sharing services. 041b061a72
